Another Man's Treasure
Driving down a country highway always affords opportunity. I had passed by the old man's place and said to myself, "There is a picture there". Not having the time to stop I decided to drive back later. The old man was busy about his wares and assumed I was a potential sale. I explained that I was an artist and would greatly appreciate his permission to photograph his place. He was rather wary of my intent but he agreed. After awhile he went to his mailbox to retrieve his mail. After much coaxing I talked him into sitting on his porch to read his mail. I took many pictures with the hopes that his awkwardness in his poses would fade. I was lucky to have captured his honest and pure gaze which endears him to the viewer.
